Laughter the Best Medicine

This evening after I walked in from work,I thought I would have a refreshing time following a long day.Having hoped that I would find warm food to eat and an environment to unwind was a far fetched idea  and dream. The house was warm especially coming from outside where it was raining heavily. For the last three weeks or so ,the rain has really pounded our country. Most crops have been destroyed, homes carried away and mudslides have caused trauma to many families. Worse off a dam burst its walls and swept away a number of homes and caused a
lot of disaster and costing lives! So arriving home safely was a matter to thank God for.

I walked into the house and called out.The little fellow heard my voice and he came out running, shouting and laughing endlessly. He seemed very excited that I had come home. In my heart, I thought, that I better enjoy this few days of being celebrated to have arrived home! When they become teenagers am sure that they might not be excited that am back home or probably may not even notice my coming in because at that stage of development, they are more interested in their own activities and may only turn to me when they need my attention or support. They may also feel that I am interfering  with their activities. So I welcomed the celebrated home coming joyfully, I even forgot that I was so worn out!
Apparently the laughter was not short lived. The little fellow kept on laughing while holding onto me so tightly, I wondered what had transpired between him and the nanny or even with the brother and cousins who were in the house.
I tend to think that the laughter was contagious because the other occupants in the house joined in and every one was laughing probably because they were being tickled by the little fellow's laughter. This went on for some time and every time we stopped laughing he would start it off again like a choir master. Truth be announced, the nanny reported that they had eaten all the warm food that I was expecting, apparently the appetites that evening were quite high so I was required to make dinner for my spouse and I.I did not mind it since the laughter left me so refreshed and probably so energized that making dinner took a short while so finally though much later i had my warm meal!
