Watching them Grow
children grow in different ways.As we watch them grow, alot goes on in our minds. My seven year old son the other day was so excited to see his grand father.the last time he saw him was eight months ago.The reason as to why they have not met for so long is the distance from our home and where the grandparents live.
The two spent a long day together playing and then the boy came to the kitchen to speak to me.He then said "mom Do you know that grand dad is super old?" .I stopped to check him out and thought woe!If the grand parent is super old so what am I?That gave us time to discuss about growth and how at times it takes so long to age and how our features change in the process. As we think about the children's growth,a light bulb goes on and enables us to rethink life!
I write this in memory of my late mother who was such a great loving mother Rachael Shivogo Andolo. She was my first teacher and she helped me grow into the mother I am. Indeed family is great

Children are amazing!the younger son is learning to speak.currently slightly beyond monosyllables. He loves to mumble some tunes and dance. Most of the time,he would find me in the house or as I come into the house and the first thing he does is to hold my hand and say dance! As I muse,i realize he thinks we can dance any time ,with or without music.
ReplyDeleteThis causes me to wonder, why don't we dance to the rhythms that life offers us?There is much that comes to us.Our experiences cause us to respond differently. For some the experiences lead to an exuberant approach to life, always singing and dancing even through the storm. Others, have life that is always dull and provides no reason to dance while others its a see saw whereby at times they sing and dance and in certain circumstances it is all dry and drab.
I choose to dance whether there is music or not for this is what am daily learning as I choose to dance.
